Have your say on the future of Bruton School for Girls

Saturday 14th March 2pm Hadspen Village Hall

Since Bruton School for Girls closed in 2022, the site has remained largely unused and is now beginning to fall into disrepair. For many in our community, it is a place with a strong history—and real potential for the future.

A recent ruling by the Charities Commission means that King’s Bruton School must appoint independent trustees to oversee the sale of the site. With property developers already showing interest, decisions about its future may move forward quickly. This makes it especially important that local people have a chance to be heard.

Could the site offer something more for the wider community? Housing is one possibility—but there may be others. Community facilities, shared spaces, or a mix of uses could all be part of the conversation. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of a significant local site.

Pitcombe Parish Council’s public meeting is a chance to hear the latest information, share your views, and listen to others. You don’t need to have all the answers—just an interest in what happens next.

If you care about the future of our area, please come along and be part of the discussion.
